GENDER PRONOUNS
We will gladly honor your request at any point to address you by your correct name and pronunciation, gender pronoun, or any other manner you would like to be referred. If you like, we will also instruct class members to do the same. Please advise us of how you would like to be referred to in class at any time. Though there is currently no standard for nonbinary pronouns in German, the following gives examples of pronouns in German. Check out this website for more info in German and this website for info in English.

Events in the German program and German Club
Check out our events, some recurring, some one-time events, some organized by the program, some by the German Club! You can also follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up to date with all things German at Carleton.
One recurring event is German Mittagstisch (lunch table). Each Tuesday and Thursday during Common Time (12-1pm), students of all skill levels in German gather in the LDC and share a meal over (often hilarious) conversations (in Denglish). Where is our table? -> "swipe your card" -> "look to the far far far left corner" -> "Shearer Room" -> "right there!". You see at least one of us professors there and our LA and SDA, and sometimes a German-flagged Bierstein.
