GRADING
Late Policy
Assignments are due by the deadline indicated on the Course Plan so you can receive feedback that will help you move on in your skill and knowledge acquisition. We set deadlines carefully to assist you in your learning process and to allow us to give you feedback in a timely manner. Be aware that homework assignments on the DDD website are assigned each day. Catching up after missing a few days of the daily homework is not advised and will interrupt your plans quite a bit. If you struggle with any deadline, please let us know as soon as possible. We expect work to come in on time, but also know that life happens and will work with you. Any work that is submitted more than one week late does not get any credit. Meetings with your conversation partners cannot be made up nor "turned in late."
Grading Scale for all assignments except written quizzes
Each assignment besides the written quizzes has criteria for grading that explain what you need to do in order to reach a certain grade. Nuances in the grades (-/+) manifest in nuances of the grading criteria for each assignment. All assignments are graded with letter grades only (the numbers are for Moodle to be able to do the calculations). This grading scale aims at creating equity and accuracy in the grading process.

Grading Scale for written quizzes only
Written quizzes are graded “old school” with points attached to each task and the grades reflecting the percentage of the points earned for correct responses. In Moodle, only letter grades will be entered. In order to account for equity and accuracy here as well, we eliminated the 0 as in the above grading scale. If you were to receive less than 55% from the actual points earned, you will still receive a 55%
